The 18th issue of LIFE, The FLUORSID House Organ, took on a special meaning: at the heart of the edition, in fact, was a theme that has always accompanied the company, long before it became a global trend: sustainability.
To open the publication, the words of Michele Lavanga, Special Projects Director, who traced the company’s path, between past, present and future, emphasising the Group’s forward-looking approach: “FLUORSID does not follow trends. And it has been doing (not talking about) sustainability for over 30 years. Long before there was any talk of it”.
A commitment that required both courage and determination: “We were pioneers in sustainability. And it was not easy. […] We had to make a huge effort to have our reasons recognized even at the legislative level in order to be able to sell those new products and satisfy our new customers”.
Over time, this vision has been translated into cutting-edge industrial choices. From the disposal of process waste to the production of energy without the use of fuels, up to the LIFE SYNFLUOR project, a new challenge that looks to the future with the desire to contribute to the evolution of the chemical industry through concrete choices and actions: “Once again, by applying circularity, FLUORSID aims to transform the fluorine and silica industry, by turning processing waste as resources”.
The message is clear: sustainability is not a label, but a path made up of concrete steps and far-sighted investments. The publication of the 18th issue of LIFE was an opportunity to reflect on what being sustainable really means: for FLUORSID, it is a daily, tangible commitment to life, respect and transformation.
