FLUORSID opens the doors of industry to the engineers of tomorrow with a day dedicated to chemistry, innovation, and discovery. Students from the Master’s Degree Program in Chemical and Biotechnological Process Engineering at the University of Cagliari were welcomed to the FLUORSID site in Macchiareddu by Daniele Tocco, Plant Director, who provided an overview of the industrial processes that underpin the company’s operations.
After an introduction focused on sustainability and technological innovation – key elements of FLUORSID’s production approach – students and professors visited the plant, stopping in various departments and gaining a first-hand look at what it means to work in a chemical company.
The visit was then concluded with a presentation of the thesis project by Roberta Demurtas, a graduand student from the same course, developed during her internship within the company: a further proof of how collaboration between the academic world and industry can generate value for both sides.
“At FLUORSID, building and strengthening the dialogue with universities is a strategic priority. These meetings are valuable opportunities to spark the interest of the younger generation in the industrial world, offering an authentic and direct look at the professions of the future. It is through direct comparison with the industrial reality that youth can transform skills into opportunities, and orientation into vision” said Daniele Tocco, greeting the students at the end of the day.
